Ceili Brown, LCMHCA
Ceili Brown, LCMHCA [she/her]
Hey there, my name is Ceili (pronounced “Kaylee”) and I’d love to introduce myself to see if I would be a good fit for you or your child!
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in NC and received my master’s in counseling from UNC Charlotte. I am a transplant, like many Charlotteans, and have lived here since 2019, but I grew up in New York and received my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Vermont. I love the outdoors and spend a lot of my free time on my mountain bike, walking my dog, and reading (outside if possible!).
I believe deeply that all people are born with resilience and the potential to develop healthy mental and emotional growth from within, like the way plants naturally grow toward the sunlight without being told. Sometimes life and the unexpected get in the way however, and growth is challenging or seems altogether impossible. My goal as a therapist is to facilitate this natural process toward healing and personal wellbeing. I meet each client where they are and create a welcoming and safe environment where we can process emotions and challenges together. I offer services for clients across the lifespan (ages 3+). I use trauma-informed, person-centered theory and integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment theory, mindfulness, expressive arts, and other techniques to meet my clients’ needs. My style is collaborative, rather than directive, to empower clients to reach their goals. I have worked with both adolescents and adults to address concerns such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues, emotion dysregulation, self-harm/suicidal ideation, and major life transitions.
Working with children ages 3-10 is a passion of mine, and with this age range I use Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). This allows for the child to lead in sessions, exploring their world and themselves freely via play in a nurturing and supportive environment. I also have a year and a half of counseling experience in both the elementary and middle school settings in CMS which gives me a deeper understanding of the challenges and issues that exist for children, teens, and their families within the school system.
If you think I might be a good fit for yourself or your child, please reach out to the CWCS office. I look forward to meeting you!
With our expertise, dedication, and trauma-informed approach, we’ll match you with an outstanding therapist who can meet you where you are in your journey.
