[she/her]
My name is Louisa, and I have been working in mental health for 5 years, including individual and group therapy. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina and a Board-Certified Music Therapist. I received my Bachelors in Music Therapy from Ohio University and a minor in Spanish language. To complement my undergrad, I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University. I am passionate about supporting my clients in a safe and collaborative space to reach their goals. I value involving my clients in their goals and treatment to keep progress transparent, so we are always on the same page. I take pride in my ability to grow rapport and trust with my clients with my warm demeanor.
As a LCMHC, I value meeting my clients with my clinical experience using techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT-Certified), trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy, as well as creative techniques such as music therapy. I have a variety of experiences and services to offer with my background of working with diverse clientele from all ages and demographics. I specialize in working with children aged 4+ and adolescents with behavioral issues, parental separation, attention difficulties, anxiety, and depression. I also specialize in working with adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, identity issues, eating disorders, low self-esteem, OCD, ADHD, and BPD. I have experience working with couples for pre-marital counseling or marital issues using the Gottman method, as well as emotion focused therapy, to help couples reach their intended goals.
As a Board-Certified Music Therapist, I am glad to explain the benefits of music therapy in conjunction to talk therapy as a treatment option for clients that may benefit from music helping them reach their therapeutic goals. Music therapy can be beneficial for people of ALL ages and demographic backgrounds. My clients do not need music experience or ability to play instruments to benefit from music therapy in treatment. Music therapy includes listening to music, playing instruments, music to aid in relaxation, lyric analysis of songs, songwriting, and many other versatile ways music can benefit YOU. I welcome my clients to a FREE 15-minute consultation call with me to get to know me better and to ask any questions you may have.
With our expertise, dedication, and trauma-informed approach, we’ll match you with an outstanding therapist who can meet you where you are in your journey.
