I hold a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University New England and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Mental Health from Eckerd College. I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina. For more than 10 years I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings with children, families, couples, and individuals. I’m trained to treat clients and their challenges systemically, and draw heavily from trauma-informed, intergenerational, and attachment-based approaches.
Currently I work with adult clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship stress, difficult family dynamics, and stress from life and family changes. As an extension of my attachment-focus, I am passionate about empowering the connection between parents and children, including helping parents better understand attachment and child development, process their own experiences, shift painful family patterns, and parent with greater insight and compassion. As a mother myself, I have an interest in supporting clients as they prepare to become parents and seek to make sense of transitions related to parenting, including processing physical changes, feelings of loss surrounding identity, social isolation and societal pressures, balancing life demands, and increased distance or conflict with their partners.
I partner with my clients to explore how they came to be where they are today, discover patterns, make sense of experiences and feelings, work towards healing emotional/relational wounds, and identify and build on intuitive wisdom and strengths. I create a supportive space to explore and express true thoughts, feelings, and needs. In addition, I aim to help clients feel more confident, self-compassionate, and empowered in relationship to themselves and others.
Integral to my treatment approach is the belief that people of all racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, family configurations, and (dis)ability status deserve excellent therapeutic care. Through ongoing education, peer supervision, and cultural humility, I’m committed to providing treatment that feels respectful, validating, collaborative and safe for all my clients.
