Dani Hoffman, LCMHCA [she/her]
Hi, I’m Dani (she/her)! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina who received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee. I initially found my way into the counseling field through my own difficult life experiences that taught me how powerful it can be to have a space where you feel heard and supported, reassured that you’re not alone in what you’re going through. As a result, my approach is grounded in Relational Cultural Theory, emphasizing the healing power of authentic connection and supportive relationships with family, friends, and peers. With clients I integrate elements of DBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed care to support insight, coping skills, and meaningful change. I’m also EMDR-trained, a modality I utilize in guiding individuals with lingering trauma responses that continue to impact their daily lives towards the long-term healing that has previously eluded them.
My primary area of work is with individual clients across the lifespan (ages 3+). As a former Division I student-athlete, I’m particularly attuned to the intense pressure that can come with having an achievement-focused mindset and balancing multiple responsibilities, and I enjoy helping clients experiencing similar types of high expectations and immense obligations build up resilience, self-compassion, and confidence beyond accomplishments. Therapy should be a space where you feel supported in developing personal safety and self-growth. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, grief, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you feel less alone and more connected to yourself and others. This can come in the form of practical tools, deeper insight, or working through past experiences, but no matter what you’re seeking I’m excited to make my office part of your personal support system.
With our expertise, dedication, and trauma-informed approach, we’ll match you with an outstanding therapist who can meet you where you are in your journey.
